Fashion has been running through my veins from an early age. My mother’s first fashion memories of me were my enthusiastic outfit planning sessions at age two! My love of fashion continued to grow and having graduated (with a diploma in fashion design) from the Grafton Academy I worked in costume for RTE.
I moved to Sydney for a change of scene and worked on publications such as Cosmopolitan, Harpers Bazaar, Cleo and Dolly magazines. Back in Ireland I expanded my experience, working with several large international retailers over ten years. After gaining valuable experience in retail buying I decided that I wanted to focus on styling and so studied to gain a diploma in professional styling. I continue to write about fashion and style for whatshewears.ie and have published articles in the independent.ie, giving style guidance and advice.
With my experience and training in fashion buying, styling and design along with my passion for helping people look good; I can really understand and cater to my clients’ individual needs.
It’s not about spending a fortune on a new wardrobe or having the perfect body, it’s about learning to understand how to make the best of the assets you have so that you can enjoy getting dressed again!

I have to admit I was sceptical about using a stylist to bring me shopping. I feel good when I’m well dressed but I generally don’t find myself in a clothes shop unless it’s an emergency. When I’m in there, unless I find something within the first 10 minutes I get fed up and leave. When I do put the time in, I end up with a bunch of stuff that doesn’t fit or doesn’t suit. I probably don’t wear half the stuff I buy. I’m sure I’ve wasted a fortune.
With Ann-Marie it was different. She asked me simple questions about what I liked and didn’t like. She had a bunch of stuff picked out in four or five different shops before we even started. As I tried stuff on, she went around picking out other things that might suit. Ann-Marie managed to pick clothes that really suited me without changing my style. I was quickly buying clothes that fit great and that I knew I would wear. Ann-Marie seems to have a natural talent for this and she’s studied it too so she actually knows what she’s talking about. She was conscious of cost all the way through so I was surprised how much I got for my money. Because I will actually wear everything I bought, I’m sure I’ve saved a fortune too. I have done a half day shopping trip and a style consultation with AnnMarie in July 2011 and I would highly recommend it. AnnMarie has a very pleasant approach to dealing with people and makes you feel comfortable with yourself and your body. She completely tailors her time to your needs and I was fully satisfied with the result of the consultation and the shopping trip. It is definitely worth the money!

I highly recommend AnnMarie as a stylist; she’s so talented and versatile. I have two children and was totally stuck in the ‘I just had a baby rut’, even though my youngest is two and a half. I looked like I’d given up! My body shape has changed, in that I’m not the very neat size 8 I used to be. I was blaming the fact that I didn’t look well on my extra baby weight. I explained to AnnMarie that I still wanted to be comfortable, but really needed to smarten up my look. She knew exactly what I meant and was just brilliant at picking out clothes and colours that completely suited me. She took into account the clothes and boots I already have and completed some really gorgeous outfits, as opposed to just bits. She made me try on different shapes and dresses that I thought were a bit too young for me, but in fact were perfect. In this economy I can’t afford to be buying clothes that I’ll never wear or clothes I have nothing to go with. I don’t have the same amount of time that I used to and AnnMarie did so much of the ground work that the few hours I spent with her were easy and relaxing.
